Budgam, Dec 26 (KNO): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drug peddling from the society, Budgam Police on Thursday said to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his house.
“Police Station Magam received information from reliable sources that one person namely Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh S/o Abdul Razak Sheikh R/o Mazhama Magam has concealed Narcotic Substance at his residential house for its illegal sale amongst youth of the area,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Upon this information, a police party of Police Station Magam led by SHO Magam Mudasir Zaroo raided the house and conducted the search and recovered 50 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from the house of the accused person and he was subsequently arrested on the spot, he said.
“A case under FIR number 161/2024 under section 8/21 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Magam and investigation has been taken up. Public at large in District Budgam is requested to come forward and report the incidents of drug peddling for safeguarding our youth. The identity of the informers will be kept protected,” police said—(KNO)
